Trump Signs Executive Orders to Ban TikTok, WeChat

President Donald Trump signed two executive orders Thursday night that would properly ban TikTok and WeChat operations in the United States, if China-based mum or dad businesses ByteDance and Tencent Holdings are unsuccessful to make profits in just 45 days from now.

The orders say that no U.S. citizen or company could make a transaction with ByteDance or Tencent commencing 45 days from the day the president signed the purchase.

In the orders, which use related language, Trump administration has accused small-form video app TikTok and messaging app WeChat of siphoning “vast swaths of information” from their people, which includes place details and searching and look for background.
