WASHINGTON—The U.S. programs to launch new trade talks with China, but will retain tariffs on Chinese imports as it presses Beijing to fulfill pledges to purchase extra U.S. items and expert services, in accordance to Biden administration officers.
The new initiative is set to be specific in a policy tackle Monday by U.S. Trade Agent Katherine Tai, in what would be her initially specific remarks on trade amongst the world’s two major economies since she took office in March.
