TOKYO—The German navy’s flagship will sign up for exercises with the U.S. and its allies in the western Pacific, a modest but symbolic broadening of an alliance of democracies countering China’s growing maritime energy.
The Bayern, a frigate that recently frequented Australia and Guam, docked in Tokyo on Friday. The ship held exercises with the Japanese navy this week and will sign up for the U.S., Canadian, Australian and Japanese navies to construct interoperability techniques from Nov. twenty to thirty, in accordance to German officials.
